A track record built before the practice existed.
The case studies below are drawn from a 20-year career in technology and digital product delivery — the evidence base the practice's methodology was built on, not client engagements delivered under the McClinton Design & Strategy name. Company names are withheld per standard confidentiality practice; industries, scope, and outcomes are accurate.
Next-Generation Commerce Platform
Originated the vision and design direction for a next-generation cart platform from scratch — low-to-high-fidelity wireframes into fully functional Figma prototypes, then a roadshow to VP and Director-level stakeholders to secure buy-in. Held the implementation vendor accountable to that vision over a 10-month design governance cycle before the platform moved into engineering. Later led daily UAT governance across four concurrent cart variants through a coordinated multi-surface launch.
Account Management Platform Redesign
Directed a 60-screen overhaul of the account management platform business and residential customers use to manage their service, spanning desktop and mobile. Set the responsive breakpoint strategy from real device analytics rather than industry defaults.
Cart Experience A/B Experiment
Identified the opportunity, designed the variant, and authored the full requirements framework — traffic split logic, cohort persistence, failover behavior, and consent-aware analytics — for a cart redesign tested against the prior baseline. Drove a 210-hour technical build to production in 90 days. Mid-trial, identified a structural measurement bias and closed it before it could distort the result. Findings were presented to the CEO by VP and Director sponsors; the redesign was confirmed as the permanent cart replacement.
RPA Process Design & User Acceptance Testing Plan
Authored the Process Design Document and SIT/UAT Plan for a UiPath bot automating cart order placement — end-to-end process flow, decision logic, exception handling, and recovery paths across 28 test scenarios and 34 test cases spanning 7 service regions. Written without a product manager intermediary, and detailed enough to secure multiple VP-level approvals and a 10-week development estimate on the strength of the documentation alone.
Jet Engine Health & Maintenance Dashboard
Designed and prototyped the UI/UX for a web-based customer notification dashboard surfacing jet engine health and maintenance data — spanning multiple commercial engine platforms — for field service engineers and carriers, including scenario-based interaction flows and dynamic engine-telemetry plotting screens. The prototypes were incorporated into a formal project review presented to executive leadership, supporting a documented business case.
